Attorney Elizabeth Rattigan Presenting at Employment Law Seminar

(Burlington, VT) Attorney Elizabeth K. Rattigan will be among the presenters at a day-long seminar on Feb. 26 in South Burlington dealing with issues related to employment law in Vermont.
The seminar, sponsored by Lorman Educational Services, will run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Best Western Windjammer Inn. The seminar is designed for human resource managers, operations managers, presidents, vice presidents, supervisors, managers, controllers, accountants and attorneys. Continuing education credits are available to participants under various authorities.
Rattigan will present a session on wage and hour regulations and Vermont Department of Labor initiatives. Topics will include the scope of exemptions under these laws, the treatment of independent contractors and matters relating to highly compensated employees. A second session will address leaves of absence in employment, including the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, state leave laws and Workers’ Compensation.
Rattigan practices employment and labor law from DRM’s Lebanon Office, and was recently named chair of the firm-wide Labor and Employment Practice Group. She focuses her practice in the areas of employment law, labor law, and commercial litigation. Rattigan joined DRM in 2012 after many years in employment law and commercial litigation for another Upper Valley firm. She is admitted to the bar and to federal courts in both Vermont and New Hampshire, and to the U.S. Court of Appeals in the First Circuit.
