(Burlington, Vermont) The board of directors of Lex Mundi, the world’s leading association of independent law firms, has voted to renew the membership of Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC as its exclusive member firm for Vermont for the next eight years, the longest term available. The renewal was recommended by an internationally-based peer review committee and affirmed by a vote of Lex Mundi directors at their meeting in Madrid on Sept. 30.
DRM CEO Paul H. Ode, Jr. says the renewal is not only good news for DRM, but also for firm clients who need a high level of legal services in other states and other countries. “Lex Mundi strives to admit the top law firm in each jurisdiction to membership, and selects only one member firm in each U.S. state, Canadian province or country,” Ode said. "When clients need local advice in Toledo, Munich, Tokyo or elsewhere, our attorneys have a network of firms with whom we have a strong, established relationship. Our association with Lex Mundi has reaped extensive benefits for many of our clients, who have been well-served, with our help, by Lex Mundi firms operating in other states and in jurisdictions around the world.”
Lex Mundi President Carl Anduri, commented “Membership in Lex Mundi is not permanent. Through our rigorous membership review process Lex Mundi can maintain and enhance the quality of its membership and, because quality is the hallmark of Lex Mundi, we are serious about finding and keeping the best law firms in each jurisdiction.”
Lex Mundi member firms retain their autonomy, but each firm commits to provide a standard of excellence in serving its clients, to assist other member firms in matters within its jurisdiction, and to pursue common goals in professional development. The list of commitments is extensive, and they include high standards for client service, a commitment to technology, transparency, and high ethical standards.
DRM is a full-service law firm with more than 60 attorneys and seven offices in Vermont, New Hampshire and New York. DRM provides legal services to local, national and international clients in practice areas that include bankruptcy and business restructuring, business law, captive insurance, energy and telecommunications, family law, health law, intellectual property, labor and employment, litigation, real estate and land use, environmental law, tax law, and trusts and estates.
