    • An associate in DRM’s Business Law and Captive Insurance groups, Zaw Win has a diverse practice with a focus on advising captive insurance clients on matters related to the organization, licensing, governance and operation of captive insurance companies and other alternative risk transfer vehicles. He also helps advise clients on general corporate and commercial issues, including transactional matters, corporate governance, and restructurings. 

      Prior to joining DRM, Zaw spent 6 years as an associate in the New York office of Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP.

  • Experience

      Counsel to the debtors (a large financial institution and its affiliates) for six years in chapter 11 cases arising out of the 2008 financial crisis, including: the negotiation, litigation and settlement of claims filed by Fannie Mae and various large banks and hedge funds; the sale and other disposition of significant real estate assets owned by the debtors; and the resolution of related adversary proceedings pending in the United States Bankruptcy Court.
