Compensation & Benefits
Downs Rachlin Martin strives to compensate all of our people at or above the norm for law firms in our region.
Associates' base salaries are set by class year and are augmented by an individually-determined year-end bonus, based on the associate's contributions to the firm. As associates progress in seniority, they become eligible for increased bonus compensation.
DRM also offers a benefits package that we believe is unmatched by law firms in our region.
The firm pays a 50 percent match of every employee’s contributions to the Firm’s 401(k) individual retirement savings plan. In addition, the firm contributes 10 percent of every employee’s annual compensation to a profit sharing plan. This means that the firm is making a tax-deferred payment of up to 15 percent of each employee’s annual compensation into a professionally-managed retirement fund.
We value family. To enable our employees to care for and bond with a newborn child, all birth mothers – both staff and attorneys – are eligible for up to 12 weeks of paid leave. DRM also offers all personnel – male and female – the opportunity to enjoy up to six weeks of paid family leave upon the birth or adoption of a child.
The firm provides life, medical, dental and disability insurance, as well as wellness benefits and assistance with personal financial planning. Health insurance plans may be tailored to individual employee and family needs. A confidential employee assistance program can assist all employees with personal challenges that are not covered under traditional benefit programs.
