AT&T / First Net Balloon Notice: Chelsea

UPDATE: The balloon test is now scheduled for Monday, October 5, 2021.

New Cingular Wireless PCS, LLC (“AT&T”) proposes to install a 140’ monopine telecommunications tower at Creamery Road, Chelsea, Vermont. The Project will allow capabilities for FirstNet, a national statewide interoperable network for first responders, as well as improving AT&T coverage in Chelsea.

At the present time, a balloon test is planned for Monday, September 27, 2021. A balloon will be flown at a height of 140’ in order to produce photo simulations documenting the project’s visibility. The balloon will be flown from roughly 9am until noon, which time period may be shortened or lengthened depending on weather conditions. Tuesday, September 28 will be the back-up date in case of inclement weather on Monday.

These photographic simulations will be available for viewing, together with a viewshed analysis, during the 60-day advance notice period, and prior to submission of the certificate of public good petition.

Please check this website to receive up-to-date information regarding the timing of the test, and any materials.
